JOB DESCRIPTION

Plan, organize, direct, control, and provide the leadership to achieve Weatherford’s short-range and long-range business development objectives in the product line, increasing sales and maximizing profitability.

 


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Vision and Leadership

  • Lead the customer technical support, providing solutions and alternatives to customers needs.
  • Provide the link between the customers and the operations team.
  • Ensure customer engagement, making Weatherford the sought for ALS brand.
  • Analyze and define the market for growth within all Artificial Lift Systems sub-product lines.
  • Work with product line leadership, Technical Sales Engineers, and other stake holders, to establish country targets, positioning, and marketing campaigns supporting individual product line marketing strategy and cross-product line strategy, specific to Country needs
  • Develop and drive pricing strategies for the product line and develop promotional programs for key customers
  • Drive initiatives to commercialize new products in partnership with global product line, region and country/area sales teams

Financial Performance

  • Develop and execute marketing plans, business plans, sales strategies, and action plans for identified targets of opportunity that clearly define objectives, goals, schedules, and action assignments for the product line.
  • Provide the data to prepare, update, and control forecasts covering projected new-business sales and investment requirements by both Weatherford and the customer.
  • Work across the PL’s identifying and reacting to key business opportunities, to deliver improved results for both Weatherford and customers

Operational Capability

  • Partner with Region and Country/Area operations to ensure effective delivery of products and services, maintaining communication throughout full sales and delivery cycle.
  • Performs duties according to the documented Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Management System, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Place Instructions, and HSSE policies.
  • Ensure regional compliance with SalesForce.com implementation and usage.

Client and Communication

  • Confer with key customers regarding equipment/product/service needs and advise key customers on types of equipment to purchase.
  • Propose solutions to customers formally through pitches, presentations and tender submissions and informally through networking and relationship building.
  • Communicate specialist product line technology.
  • Responsible for relaying competitive information back to the appropriate product line stakeholders, including pricing, product performance, marketing material, activities, new products/technology etc.
  • Provides tactical input to Product Line Sales Strategy when required.
  • Support Country Sales Teams by providing sales training and marketing material targeted for customers and application specific opportunities.
  • Maintain personal contact with key customers on a frequent basis.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding service, product, or personnel.

Team Building and Mentoring

  • Coaches and mentors junior Product Line technical support personnel where appropriate.
  • Lead the way on people management to drive a motivated disciplined and productive workforce.  This includes effective staff leadership, performance management by setting objectives and driving appraisals and communication.
  • Drive strategies for recruitment and retention of key personnel to foster an environment that enables the company to attract and retain a high performing talented workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with the Weatherford Competence Assurance System.

SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE

  • Business or Engineering Degree/ Diploma
  • Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure to meet specific deadlines
  • Excellent management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills
  • Understands and analyses competitors’ technical strategy and tactic
  • Understands and analyses the customers’ technical requirements from a strategic view
  • Experience in development of commercialization plans
  • Demonstrated success in selling services and/or a previous marketing role
  • Knowledge and experience of Salesforce an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of oilfield services, equipment, and parts
  • Demonstrable international field and sales experience in at least 2 of the following product lines: Reciprocating Rod Lift (preferred), Progressing Cavity Pumps, Gas Lift, Hydraulic Lift, Plunger Lift, Production Optimization.
  • Proficiency in the use of Artificial Lift design software (WellFlo, CFER PC-Pump, Rodstar, SRod, JEMS, etc)
  • Broad technical understanding of current Product Lines
