JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Applications Engineer will be an integral part of the Geozone PRODUCTION team with detailed focus on growing the Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) business and other Artificial Lift applications. This position will be one of the main points of contact between the sales teams who determine the product requirement and the specific ESP sourcing partners who deliver the product in line with design parameters determined by the Engineering Group.

Technical and Customer Focus

Demonstrate a strong understanding of Artificial Lift techniques, and in specific ESP applications

Well versed in ESP design using software and the ability to coordinate engineering, fabrication and testing of products
 

Establish QA/QC standards and Service Delivery Excellence

Respond to technical and commercial enquiries from internal (Sales) and external (Clients) customers

Review and analyse tenders to determine project feasibility, assist sales teams with the preparation of bids and presentations

Support inside sales operations by creating quotes in line with the Product Line’s pricing strategy and maintain project documentation traceability

Travel as needed to support product sales, field installations and any troubleshooting requirements

Conduct thorough Root Cause Failure Analysis and provide reports in required format including recommendations for increasing performance of the system (s). As part of this, also guide shop personel throuought detailed dismantle inspections of failed submersible pumping systems for customers

Identifies new product development opportunities and strategies. Plans and formulates aspects of associated engineering work, such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, and equipment and manpower requirements

Provide direction on technical projects including selection, technology and design. Knowledge on proper application of various lift methods is a plus

Provide technical support to field operations and other company officials

Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirement of the Quality System Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions

Must understand, comply with and enforce all safety rules and company policies

Perform various other duties assigned by Manager within the physical constraints of the job

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications

  • Strong communications skills – oral and written
  • Resilience, self-reflection and adaptiveness to change within the scope of work is key
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills, with secondary european language skills advantagious
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Adapt to changing and challenging work load/environment -  onshore, offshore, research labs and test rigs
  • Good user knowledge of Office 365 applications - Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

 

 B.S Degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering preferred, other engineering technology considered
