JOB DESCRIPTION

 Summary of Overall Job Purpose:

Operate and maintain power and handling equipment in accordance with approved industry standards, quality procedures, safety guidelines and within the scope of the technician’s qualifications and competencies to ensure integrity of the client’s wells.

The main responsibilities of TRS Technician Grade 4:

  • Operate power and handling equipment within client’s time specification in compliance with Weatherford Tubular Running Service Competence Assurance System to maintain integrity of the client’s wells.
  • Maintain power and handling equipment at work area within client’s time specification in compliance with Weatherford Tubular Running Service Competence Assurance System to allow equipment to be operational on location.
  • Carry out stabber duties (including pipe alignment and stabbing, signalling Driller and operating handling tools) on stabbing board to avoid damage to pipe during pipe makeup operations within client’s time specification in compliance with Weatherford Tubular Running Service Competence Assurance System to maintain integrity of the client’s wells.
  • Operate power and handling equipment within work  originator’s time specification (Internal/External customers) in horizontal applications onshore, in accordance with approved industry standards, safety and quality procedures, legislation and within the scope of the technician’s qualifications and competencies to meet customer’s work requirements.
  • Contact Operations office on a daily basis or as instructed to receive job and check-in details.  Additionally, attend pre and post job briefings as instructed to ensure the communication of issues and information as facilitated.  Besides, to attend industry and company training as instructed and required by Company, industry or clients.
  • Other auxiliary offshore duties such as cleaning of tongs, stowing of hoses and other housekeeping/maintenance duties in a safe manner as directed and supervised by the Crew Chief, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfill these.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

  • Qualification covering Competence objectives of Service Technician grade 3;
  • Offshore survival certificate;
  • Offshore medical certificate;
  • Minimum of 8 – 12 months field experience as a Service Technician grade 3;
  • Being Proactive;
  • The ability to communicate with peers and supervisors;
  • Customer focus;
  • Flexible to accommodate operational requirements;
  • Self motivated and ability to work unsupervised;
  • Resilient, able to cope in a difficult and harsh working environment;
  • Team work;
  • Ability to work in a highly safety sensitive environment and complying with both Company and Client safety standards;
  • Physically fit to work offshore in a manual capacity.

Preferred:

  • Qualification covering Competence objectives of Service Technician grade 4;
  • Field experience as a Service Technician grade 4;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Confidence to ask questions of supervisor;
  • Willingness to learn and ambition.
