WIRING TECHNICIAN

To manufacture electro-mechanical assemblies to a multi-skilled level.

You will be required to do a high level of soldering, wiring, basic mechanical fitting and assembly.

An ability to carry out hands on rework of printed circuit boards, including SMT devices with fine pitched leads and leadless components.

1.      Wiring of precision tools and assemblies with the ability to understand electrical schematic diagrams, engineering drawings and follow specific instructions.

2.      To be fully competent in all areas of hand soldering techniques and have the ability to undertake fine wire soldering using lead free solder.
 

3. To undertake wiring, PCB/SMT assembly/rework and mechanical assembly, to specification in line with quality requirements.

4. Where issues arise in relation to ambiguity of the specification, to liaise with engineering for clarity before proceeding.

5. Working as part of a small team, you will be able to adapt to a variety of tasks, contributing positively and effectively to the overall success of the team.

6. To carry out any other duties as reasonably required by the Wiring Supervisor.

3 yrs electrical experience gained within a precision environment

Understanding of electrical schematic diagrams
 

Use of hand soldering and crimping equipment

5 GCSE’s, min. C passes in Maths and English 

To have worked within an ISO accredited/ quality approved environment
