Help Weatherford product lines communicate the value proposition of their products and services with the aim of achieving business growth.  Efficiently develop appropriate copy for inclusion in print and digital communication media.


Develops copy for a wide variety of marketing collateral for print and digital distribution. Includes information gathering (existing materials, interviewing, Internet, etc.), writing initial copy, handling edits/changes to subsequent drafts, and advising on accompanying art/graphics when necessary.

Works with product line and region personnel to help them provide the right background material or content for these documents.

Writes a variety of marketing collateral in accordance with applicable universal conventions and corporate and industry standards. Includes writing of Technical spec sheets, real results, product and service brochures, web copy, etc.

Create, presents and develops marketing campaign concepts that stand out and help achieving business goals.  

Supports development, communication, and enforcement of communication standards throughout the company.

Adheres to and upholds departmental policies, processes, procedures, and practices.

Knows and understands Weatherford Quality Policy and complies with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

Understands and complies with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Fulfils work assignments to the highest quality level.

Performs various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.



Superior writing skills in creative, technical, and journalistic styles

Ability to categorize, organize, and manage information

Ability to explain writing decisions to non-writers

Ability to research, gather information, interview

Some knowledge of production process

Ability to work under tight deadlines and on multiple projects

Detail oriented

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing communications, technical writing, English, or liberal arts

Minimum of 7 to 8 years of corporate communications, marketing writing, or agency experience, preferably with some oilfield experience

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.


Has knowledge of other cultures, especially in terms of their business and communication styles.

Oil-and-gas industry experience
