Directs and monitors all activities related to Procurement & Supplier Management of all goods purchased to support all product lines.  Coordinates with General Manager regarding policy, procedures, personnel development and salary administration.  Resides as an active member of the plant leadership team to ensure all initiatives are collaborative and the required results for these are obtained.


Develop & Implement ISO 9000-2001 procedures as required.

Promote & participate in the 8Gems/Target Zero Safety Program.

Ensure annual “Global Manufacturing Objectives” are communicated, monitored and measured for department.

Reside on the local “Leadership” Team to ensure department direction & development is strategically aligned.

Provide Corrective/Preventive actions required by ISO, EEP and Safety to ensure a positive/favorable result.

Collaborate with production planners and monitor, track, and provide feedback on delivery status.

Expedite purchase orders, where needed, to insure promised delivery or due date compliance.

Collaborate with department supervisors to identify qualified suppliers and to continuously improve the performance of existing ones.

Assist suppliers with questions or problems concerning the purchasing process to ensure timely delivery.

Discuss defective or unacceptable service with suppliers to collectively determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Evaluate supplier performance and communicate results and progress with them. Seek continuous improvement. 

Develop reliable and qualified sources of supply for products and components.

Provide information to the Plant Manager, as required, for monthly reports.

Negotiate purchasing agreements for lower cost, better quality and service.

Review and approve technical and administrative content of purchasing documentation.

Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchase, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.

Develop and maintain reliable sources of supply and sound supplier relationships.

Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and other to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Maintain ethical conduct with all supplier relations.

Responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved vendors, assuring the timeliness of delivery and accuracy of orders, and following up with vendors when there is a problem with delivery.

Develop and manage long-term purchasing agreement and alliance type programs.

Develop a sourcing strategy for key products and components

Develop strategies that aim to reduce total ownership cost for EDI.

Assist in the development, training and supervision of lower level or new recruit buyers.

Conduct surveys and market studies, and review historical data to determine price levels, trends, market direction and availability of commodities.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements and company policies of Weatherford.

Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and company with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.



General computer knowledge (MicroSoft products)

Strong organization and time-management skills.

Ability to work as part of cross-functional team

Excellent understanding of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)

Must have reading, writing and math skills.

Buying experience with raw materials and machine parts.

Extensive knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.

Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Ability to effectively interface and collaborate with internal and external customers to insure positive results

Familiarization with manufacturing and service environment.

Superior purchasing and negotiation skills.

Over 6 years procurement experience 

Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Previous supervisory/lead experience

Ability to work and interact with all levels of personnel.

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.


Knowledge of JDE operating systems.

College degree in business or a technical discipline

Experience preferably in an MRP-driven manufacturing environment

Previous O&G experience

Valid driver’s license.
