JOB DESCRIPTION

Actively manage and drive the product strategy & product development(s) for the respective product line, aligning new products with GPL strategy to customer requirements and market needs, and ensuring integration into and maintenance and rationalization of the existing product portfolio.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement the product lines global strategy in conjunction with the product line’s growth strategy.

Develop and maintain the product line’s organization to high level of performance throughout the GPL

Manage the technical support effort to the geozones. Including updates on technical issues and ongoing product developments.

Oversee the release of new product qualification information and the commercialization of new products to the Drilling Services market.

Engage external customers to position products and technologies for application into their assets.

Understand and improve where necessary the perception of this product line, identify potential new products required by the market, and establish relationships for future success.

Provide assistance to the regional business development effort through communication of technical information & capabilities to our customers.

Manage & oversee problem job investigations & operational troubleshooting

Actively provide Weatherford Drilling Services representation at industry events / forums / conferences.

Produce & deliver technical papers / presentations in relation to specific products for client meetings and industry events / forums / conferences.

Oversee product line operations to ensure service safety, quality, and efficiency, and cost-effective management of resources as per objectives

Ensure compliance with, and commitment to, company processes like Operational Excellence and Performance System, submission and approval of AFEs

Manage the development and publication of technical & marketing material for the product line, both web based & hard copy (i.e. Product Line Bulletins, Technical Specification Sheets, Real Results, Technical Manuals, etc.).

Actively contribute to the development & delivery of key technical product line training courses programs to support personnel competency & business growth.

Ensure that that Health, Safety, Environment and Quality are the responsibility of all employees

Demonstrate effective Safety leadership at all times to enhance the organization’s commitment to safety performance  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the Drilling Services product line and MLWD services.

Must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the Drilling Services product line’s styles and MLWD operations.

Must possess an excellent understanding of MLWD applications / operations.

Broad and strong technical aptitude regarding oilfield products and services with emphasis on the particular product line

Must possess excellent analytical skills to enable product / process evaluation, with a proven ability to facilitate and deliver product / process improvement.

Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.   Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections

Knowledge of communications and public relation techniques. Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations

Possess a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline

Extensive experience in a technical, product line, design, applications or operations role related to Drilling Services.

Proven track record in international operations, onshore and offshore.

Proven technical problem-solving ability.

General understanding of global oil industry & awareness of the key operators/technology users.

Proven track record in managing International operations of a product line

Must be self motivated & an effective team manager.

Must have good communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal & written.

Must have good organizational skills & an ability to work to tight & sometimes challenging deadlines.

Must be able to make decisions, and be able to identify & implement appropriate improvements.

Must have good presentation skills to convey product line information, both internal & externally.

Possess an enthusiasm for challenging established practices.

Good computer literacy & working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.

Willing to travel internationally as required

Preferred:

Possess a strong understanding related products and services, of the product line

Demonstrated technical expertise in a related discipline (geomechanics, reservoir engineering, etc.).

Product management experience in an oilfield service company.

Commercial experience as a provider of and/or as a customer for oilfield products & services.

Offshore operational experience

Remote location and International experience
