The Core Technician II will be responsible for the performing the proper processing and preparation of core samples, ensuring that sampling is done safely, timely and accurately.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare core samples for lab testing, including organizing, sampling, cutting, drilling or sanding.
Assemble and process the incoming and various core samples for preparation for the lab.
Perform core sampling process according to standards and parameters.
Operate, repair and maintain laboratory testing, measuring and mechanical equipment in good working order.
Ensure that sufficient supplies or resources are on hand to complete sampling process without delays.
Maintain the appearance of area.
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform and meet daily and monthly production tasks.
Perform any other duties, projects or activities as required by the supervisor or management within in the physical constraints of the job.
Comply with all safety rules and company policies.
Learn and understand Weatherford's Enterprise Excellence Process and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
Responsible for acting as a mentor for Core Technician I employees.
Partner with Core Technician I & III to ensure accurate sampling and processing
Will have to operate forklift and other motorized equipment.
Ability to operate and repair both laboratory and mechanical handling equipment
Ability to properly sample rock/core samples for laboratory testing, including, but not limited to: Slabbing, Sanding and Plugging.
Ability to work with minimal instruction
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work weekend or night shift, as requested
Ability to work safely and well with other team members
Minimum 1 year experience in core processing related duties
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Knowledge of laboratory, mechanical, construction or carpentry experience
A background in math or science
