Weatherford Canada Ltd.'s Completion division is looking for a Technical Sales Representative who can sell completion and liner hanger installations using Weatherford Completion & Liner Hanger products and services. The successful individual will be responsible for creating new business as well as sustaining and nurturing existing business. They will also be responsible for identifying requirements for new products and/or services.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing new Completion Tool & Liner Hanger business –75% time

  • Sourcing new clients (including cold calling)
  • Building relationships with customers and third parties
  • Writing quotes
  • Resolving problems

Responsible for maintaining existing Completion Tool and Liner Hanger business – 25% time

  • Interacting with existing WCS clients
  • Writing quotes
  • Resolving problems
  • Required to work in conjunction with other Completion Tool Sales and Operations personnel to sell Completion and Liner Hanger Equipment to customers throughout Canada.
  • Identifies competitor capabilities and activities
  • Determines market size and market share with customers assigned by Sales Manager

This position requires the incumbent to invest significant time outside of normal working hours in order to develop new business and to sustain existing business.



  • 5+ years working in the completion tool and liner hanger business.
  • Prior experience in the drilling rig or wireline industries is a definite asset.
  • Prior Technical Sales experience preferred.
  • 2 year technical school diploma in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering Technology or greater
  • CET preferred
  • Understanding of the drilling, completion tool & liner hanger business
  • Practical, hands-on ability with completion tools and liner hangers
  • High levels of communication and personnel skills
  • Sound judgment and positive decision making skills essential
  • Strong organizational skills to handle large quantities of paperwork
  • Able to multi-task
  • Able to interact and perform successfully within a team environment
  • Work successfully under restrictions and tight deadlines
  • Operate PC & related software including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings
