Setup and operate the data acquisition systems for recording of information in a variety of R & D tests for oil field tools.  Assist with maintenance of the data acquisition systems and support day-to-day operations in all the test facilities.


Know and understand Weatherford’s Operational Excellence and Performance System (OEPS) and the Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSSE) policies and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

Verifies that all safety procedures are followed while using the DA systems

Assists scheduling, and maintenance for the DA systems which includes the calibration schedules of LVDT, Linear transducers, Pressure transducers, Load cells, Thermocouples DAQ modules.

Review all special, unusual or unfamiliar DA requests to be performed.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Provide technical support to various product line tools with respect to the Test Labs test abilities through data acquisition. 

Support and maintain a PM schedule for all lab DAQ equipment.

Assist with inventory and maintain documents; as required.

Assist with ensuring the appearance of lab facility and test equipment is maintained; as required.



Basic computer skills.

Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Organizational skills.

Ability to work well with all levels of personnel.

Extensive knowledge of operation of rig and testing DA equipment.

5 to 10 years’ experience in an oil field related test lab environment

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.


Knowledge of testing equipment used and tests to be performed.

Knowledge of computer skills in spreadsheets and word processing is required.

LabView based software operating systems.

Operating with control and automation software

Strain gage application experience and strain gage testing experience.

Willingness to learn new skills
