JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform Level I Repair and Maintenance activities of Logging While Drilling / Rotary Steerable Technologies

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs inbound and outbound tests of Logging While Drilling Sensors, Rotary Steerable Sensors, and Downlink Commander Units, ensuring quality and service procedures are followed.

Disassembles, Cleans, and Assembles all sizes of LWD / RSS tool string sensors, ensuring quality and service procedures are followed.

Operates the Break-out Unit to assemble and disassemble RSS / LWD Tool String configurations.

Operates the Overhead Crane to assemble and disassemble RSS / LWD Tool String configurations.

Performs visual inspection on all parts according to the pass/fail criteria as laid out in the WI.  Defers questionable parts to Quality Control.

Completes documentation on parts that do not meet the quality standard and removes those parts from service to lab for further analysis.

Performs failure analysis and updates Team Lead / Supervisor / Management with results. 

On Call 24/7 capability

Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Mechanically inclined

2 - 5  years of Technical knowledge of Drilling Systems products and Services

Excellent communication, organization, troubleshooting and teamwork skills

A positive attitude and a high degree of self-discipline and motivation.

Self-sufficient, ability to work under demanding conditions. Works well with   others.

Minimum High School education or equivalent

Preferred:

Familiarity with Weatherford QHSSE practices, policies, and procedures

Previous experience as a R&M Technician - RSS I, LWD I, or LWD II

Soldering

Previous training or experience as a mechanical technician

Familiarity with Weatherford QHSSE practices, policies, and procedures

Previous experience as a R&M Technician - RSS I, LWD I, or LWD II

Previous training or experience as a mechanical technician
