JOB DESCRIPTION

Leadership

  • Provide coaching and training to others in Continental Europe on spend analysis, sourcing concepts and techniques, contracting best practices, and negotiation
  • Together with the Continental Europe Procurement Manager, identify best talent within the existing organization to build a strategic procurement team
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and coach on contract negotiations for high value and high risk contracts
  • Develop and improve tools to increase standardization of process steps and output

 Sourcing

  • Develop and own geozone sourcing strategy and funnel in alignment with Global Category Management and Eastern Hemisphere (EH) Sourcing
  • Ensure that geozone delivers against its annual cost savings targets
  • Develop and maintain local/regional market analysis
  • Perform in-depth analysis of spend in CE to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Collaborate with Product Lines, Business Development, and F&A to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Lead cross functional sourcing exercises following industry leading sourcing process to rationalize supplier portfolio and deliver cost savings

  • Serve as focal point and liaison to Global Category Management EH Sourcing on global sourcing initiatives
  • Identify and pursue process improvement opportunities related to sourcing and contracting
  • Evaluate Total Cost of Ownership and apply Should Cost models to ensure best value for company

 Contracting

  • Collaborate with local legal teams and global procurement function to develop local contract templates to be used for low value, low risk purchasing
  • Ensure compliance within the geozone to corporate policies and industry best practices for contracting
  • Lead contract negotiations for high value and high risk strategic contracts
  • Provide support to country level buyers on contract negotiations as and when required

  • Ensure that Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment are the responsibility of all employees and embedded into the culture of employees
  • Ensure compliance with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
  • Ensure compliance with Weatherford’s Anti-Corruption Procedures, Trade Compliance policies and related policies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a graduate degree at University or Higher Business Education level in a related field e.g. Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Law or similar disciplines
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience in purchasing, including a robust track record for contracting, vendor negotiations, strategic sourcing, and commodity management, and people development
  • Experience working with a multinational company
  • Advanced Procurement / Supply Chain certification preferred
  • A thorough understanding of procurement principles and experience developing procurement strategies
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about procurement and have excellent communication skills
  • Strong negotiator and know how to deal effectively with national and international suppliers
  • Result and people oriented – effective in working with colleagues and suppliers in and outside the company
  • Business fluent in speaking and writing English. Other European languages are an advantage.
  • Experience of working in the Oil & Gas industry (preferred)
  • Affinity with technical working environment and will need to get some understanding of the products and services of the relevant Product Service Lines
  • Very strong analytical skills and understands Financial Fundamentals and Concepts
  • Project Management and Influencing skills
  • Understanding of Business Controls Policies, Processes and Procedures
  • Computer literate and self-sufficient working on computer. Experienced user of MS Office programs and ERP systems (JDE Procurement modules preferred)
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with only little or remote supervision
  • Have no-nonsense attitude and effective hands on problem solving skills
  • History of setting strategy and seamlessly executing
  • Analytical skills, including detailed knowledge of Excel and SAP Business Warehouse
