Under the direction of the Operations Manager performs advanced Wireline services. Duties and responsibilities include the proper maintenance of tools and equipment, crew supervision, ensuring compliance to policies, managing information and customer data, and customer relations.
The employee has obtained the necessary skills and knowledge and is capable of working autonomously on tasks covering majority of the services in Open Hole and/or Cased Hole domains. Additionally, they should be contributing towards improvements in service quality which includes failure analysis, processes and procedures, and customer service. They also act as mentors and coaches for other employees into field operation job family with lower seniority.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts the operation of a service unit to maintain a high standard of efficiency and quality.
Maintains knowledge of the latest technological changes and operating procedures pertaining to Company equipment, tools, and practices to insure maximum operating efficiency.
May interpret logs for client representatives to recommends services best suited to production.
Fosters and maintains customer relations by establishing a positive image and confidence in the quality of services and ensures the confidentiality of all logging operations.
Prepares all required reports and data in an accurate and timely manner.
May assist sales force in presentation by providing technical knowledge/diagrams when necessary.
May contact established clients to solicit Wireline services and maintain good will.
Assign trainee employees to experienced personnel for on-the-job training.
Assures adherence to all safety regulations.
Is available to perform duties on short notice, day or night, while on duty.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Attains and applies comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Promotes safe procedures among assigned crew in adherence to Company policies and procedures.
Performs all duties in a safe manner.
Corrects obvious hazards or unsafe conditions and reports those which cannot be immediately corrected to Engineer or District Manager.
Complies with Customer safety policies and procedures.
Complies with federal, state and local safety regulations and procedures.
Take direction from the District Manager, Area/Country Manager, and/or Training Center personnel.
Participates in the management of the location.
Assists in the training of Junior Field Engineers.
Represent Company as the Senior Technical Representative on location.
Focus on customer service, pride, professionalism and getting the job done “right the first time”.
Employee must be responsive to customer requirements while performing services in accordance with company operational guidelines.
The General Field Engineer has responsibility for the unit on location as well as the development of personnel and business opportunities.
Failure to act responsibly will result in loss of business and reputation.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
The Engineer is responsible for supervising and developing the personnel assigned.
May temporarily fill in for District Manager, Engineer In Charge, and/or Field Service Manager.
Must be certifiable in all applicable governmental compliance programs.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have never been convicted of a felony.
Possess a valid driver's license of the appropriate type for the required vehicle.
Must have not been cited for three (3) moving vehicle violations in the past 12 months.

Subject to "on call" hours 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Long work hours.
May be required to work offshore or out of town for extended periods at customer well sites.
Outdoor environment subject to temperature and weather change.
Exposure to explosives, high pressure well bore environments and ionizing radiation.
Ability to train personnel in all service operations.
Operates all service tools in an assigned service area.
Must be able to perform all logging operations in geographic area.
Internal applicants must meet all established criteria for Senior Field Engineer and satisfactorily complete the Engineer Breakout Exam/Progression Checklist.
Must meet all established criteria for Senior Engineer in two of three types of Wireline services.
Minimum of two years’ experience as Engineer and complete the Senior Engineer Breakout Exam/Progression Checklist.
Radiation, explosives, and pressure certification as required.
External applicants must have been an Engineer or higher level for at least two years with another Wireline Service Company and meets established job criteria including completion of Breakout Exam/Progression Checklist.
Experience within the Oil and Gas Industry.
May be required to have CDL with hazardous materials endorsement (IF APPLICABLE).
College graduate degree level in either:
