Repair and Maintenance Technical Specialist LWD is responsible for supporting R&M functions pertaining to LWD Technologies to LWD R&M competencies.  The position is primarily involved in providing technical support, training, and perform routine R&M repair for the district as well as being involved in the planning and installation/set-ups of workshop and implementing LEAN concept on process flows.  They also act as a liaison between Operations and district R&M as applicable.  

Provides on-call R&M technical support for R&M Personnel, district R&M Workshop Manager, and district R&M Supervisors.

Trains and evaluates district LWD R&M Technicians in LWD R&M competencies.

Participates in the planning, mobilization, installation/set-up, and changes in levels of new and existing LWD R&M District.

Ensures all necessary upgrades or modifications pertaining to R&M are communicated within the district as per instructions in ECN’s from Product Engineering and are being implemented in district  as efficiently as possible.

Collaborates with Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Operations, and District R&M personnel to develop ways to improve procedures, systems, and equipment of existing and developing LWD technologies for improved customer satisfaction; ensures competencies, training, documentation, etc. are all maintained as technological changes are introduced.

Facilitates SD Quality management systems pertaining to R&M applications; promotes utilization, identifies improvements needed to the systems, and collaborates with Reporting System group to have changes implemented.

Performs internal audits as required so that applicable district R&M Workshop is audited at least annually, identifying areas for improvement, developing and implementing plans to address, and driving district compliance.

Performs various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

  • Strong communication, organizing, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills, especially when under pressure
  • Positive attitude, with a high degree of self-discipline and self-motivation
  • Thorough knowledge of Drilling Systems products and services
  • User of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to collaborate with others and have good team-building skills
  •  Seven years ‘hands-on’ experience in oilfield R&M environment where LWD technologies are operated or serviced.
  • Minimum five years ‘hands-on’ experience in performing R&M on Weatherford LWD Technologies as an R&M Lead Technician - LWD.R&M Technician – LWD II competencies
